DIMAPUR — Advisor to the Department of Tribal Affairs, H Tovihoto Ayemi, lauded and congratulated the State Election Commission (SEC) for successfully conducting the urban local body (ULB) elections across the state.
In a press statement, Ayemi said that the dedication of the SEC, led by the election commissioner, and the entire machinery of the state, including law enforcement agencies and police forces, was instrumental in ensuring smooth and peaceful polls.
He noted that Dimapur witnessed exceptionally peaceful elections, and due credit must be given to the police force, led by the police commissioner, and the district administration, led by the deputy commissioner, for their effective policing, maintenance of law and order, and constant vigilance to prevent any untoward incidents.
He also lauded all those responsible for ensuring free and fair elections in Dimapur district, as well as the general public, civil society organisations, tribal organisations, and others, for the success of the elections.
Mentioning the implementation of 33% women reservation in the ULBs, he congratulated Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and the PDA Government and assured that “the strong and spirited alliance between the NDPP and BJP, along with other parties,” remains intact.
He wished all those who have been duly elected to municipal and town councils success in their future endeavours to serve and work for the welfare of the people.
