Subject: Prayer for request to name the Vellore Naga Patient Home in Memory of Late Rev. Dr. Noksangchila

Respected Sir,

I am honoured to bring this to your kind attention, regarding the construction plan to build a Naga patient house at CMCH Vellore (Tamil Nadu) for the ailing patients who travel long distances to avail treatment there. On 13TH October 2021, I wrote a letter to the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) regarding the construction of a Naga patient home at CMCH Vellore. I Thank the government authorities for understanding that this is an important project and taking initiatives to make things possible.

This project was first initiated by a pioneer from Nagaland, Late Rev. Dr. Noksangchila when she was assigned as the Chaplain of CMCH Vellore (Tamil Nadu). She was the first Naga assigned the duty of Chaplain at CMCH Vellore from 1988 to 2001. She was also the first North-East Indian woman to be ordained with the title of Reverend. She’s a recipient of many awards. Being a philanthropist, she also donated her plot of land at Chumoukedima to the ABAM (Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang) for the purpose of God’s ministry. With a vision to construct a Naga patient home, she organised a fund drive and raised Rs. 450,000 to buy a plot of land in the name of NBCC (Nagaland Baptist Church Council) at the CMCH Vellore (Tamil Nadu) compound in 2001.

It is disheartening to note that no one has taken proper measures to realise this vision to date. Therefore, I request you to take this matter in hand and ensure the necessary steps are taken as soon as possible. Additionally, I request that the Naga patient home be named in memory of Late Rev. Dr. Noksangchila.

I also urge your esteemed authority to ensure that whoever is put in charge of the construction does not take any percentage deductions and do it voluntarily in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Finally, I request that all BPL card holders and church workers who comes for medical treatment be allowed to stay there without any charges.

Hoping for a positive response.

Thank you.

Sincerely

 Bendang Imsong
