Three police personnel test Covid-19 positive in Mokokchung

Dimapur, June 24 (EMN): Three police personnel at Longtho police station in Mokokchung district tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday when a lab technician from Tzurangkong was sent to collect and test the sample of police personnel.

Medical Officer of Community Health Centre (CHC) Mangkolemba, Dr. Jetilo Magh informed that they had conducted sample testing of 20 police personnel of Longtho police station, out of which results of three personnel returned positive.

In another report, it was informed one person from Moayimti village was also tested positive for the virus on June 23.

According to the medical officer of PHC Tzurangkong, Taliwapang Jamir, the patient tested positive in Mokokchung town while visiting the hospital for a regular check-up for other ailments.

Jamir informed that all the family members of the patient were in home quarantine at Moayimti village and contact tracing was in the process.

In view of the detection and confirmation of Covid-19 positive cases at Longtho and Moayimti village, the additional deputy commissioner of Mangkolemba, Dharam Raj, through an order declared the areas of Longtho and Moayimti village as containment zone as defined in the standard operating procedure issued by the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Nagaland with immediate effect until further order.

According to the order, no entry and exit from the containment zone will be allowed. However, movement of vehicles carrying essential commodities and vehicles under the exempted category or requisite movement permit passing through the national highway will be allowed.

It further said that all the neighbouring villages of the containment zone would be strictly monitored and movement of people to the containment zone restricted.
