Three arrested with drugs in separate police operations
DIMAPUR — Personnel of North Police Station in Kohima led by the SDPO (North) intercepted one Maruti Swift bearing registration No. NL 01C A 4396 at Sechü (Zubza) on National Highway 29 and recovered suspected heroin on November 13.
A police report issued by the PRO of Kohima Police stated that the team recovered 90 soap cases of suspected heroin weighing approximately 1073 gm during a search of the vehicle. The vehicle was coming from Manipur. It added that two occupants of the vehicle have been arrested in this connection.
In another incident, personnel of Excise Mobile Squad on Tuesday intercepted one Alto taxi bearing registration No. NL01 T 9226 at Kukidolong highway area in Chümoukedima and recovered a total of 599 bottles of codeine-based cough syrup.
A report issued by the superintendent of Excise and Prohibition (MS), K Toshiho Yeptho, stated that one person identified as Katoshe T was arrested and booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act ’85. It added that the seized articles are deposited in the Excise malkhana and further investigation is on.
