Diphu, Oct. 11 (EMN): A leadership training programme was organised by Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) Thomson Rongpi faction, Diphu district committee on the topic, ‘Creation of Autonomous State under Article 244(A) through a peaceful democratic process’ at Diphu on Tuesday.

The Chief Executive Member (CEM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang during the training stressed on the need for various factions of KSA to be as one student body.

The CEM said, “I always appeal that the different factions of KSA should be one,” while expressing that the KSA should stand united as one for a common cause like border and autonomous state issues.

Earlier, the former Executive Member of KAAC and former leader of KSA, Chomang Kro said having too many KSA factions does not serve good for the society.

“It is embarrassing and I want the KSA to be one,” said Kro.

EM, KAAC and former propaganda secretary of the KSA, Surjya Rongphar also said that he was an active member of KSA from his school days to his college education while lamenting that the emergence of the armed organisation Karbi National Volunteers (KNV) was from the KSA office.

Prior to the training programme, CEM KAAC laid the foundation stone for the construction of Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) Thomson Rongpi faction central committee office at Diphu.

The KSA central committee office building will be constructed with a cost of INR 1 crore through KAAC’s own funds.
