Kohima, Dec. 29 (EMN): Thenyizumi Students’ Union (TSU) on December 28 held its 69th general session at the multipurpose hall in Thenyizumi village under Phek district on the theme “Resilience and flexibility to achieve continuity.”
Sanuzo Nienu, joint director of Agriculture and the guest speaker, called upon the students to give their best effort by working hard to excel in their career.
“We are living in a competitive world with latest technology where only the best of the best are only selected in competitive exams,” he said and asked the students to focus on their respective area of interest.
While noting that the present scenario of education system is changing rapidly with the advancement of technology, he viewed that the education policy at present is in need to be upgraded as the situation in the remote areas, villages are lacking behind in many aspects.
“When an individual improve, society improve and every student development in every nook and corner is important for economical marginalised areas for the overall development and improvement of the productivity of our economy,” Nienu pointed out.
With no big industries, factories or company to accommodate unemployed youth in the state, he emphasised on the need for students to opt for technical degrees as it has vast scope for self-employment.
In this regard, he asked the student body to organise career guidance seminars and counseling for students to choose their respective area of interest. The joint director further advised the students to make the best use of phone and internet.
Earlier, the village council chairman, Medothi Rhakho, shared greetings, while the presidential address was delivered by Nuzovo Dawhuo, and the invocation prayer was said by Theduseyi Poru, catechist of St. Andrew Church Thenyizu.
On the occasion, folk tune was presented by Women Society of Thenyizu and concluded with a benediction said by Neshotsulu Thisa, associate pastor (W) of Thenyizu Baptist Church.
