DIMAPUR — The department of Power has notified that four 132kV bays at the 220/132kV Zhadima (New Kohima substation), along with the LILO 132kV Kohima-Wokha at 220/132 kV Zhadima (New Kohima substation), and the 132kV D/C transmission line from Zhadima to Nagaland University, along with the 132/33kV, 2×25 MVA at Nagaland University substation, passing through the jurisdictions of five locations, will undergo test charging at the rated voltage at 9:30 am on May 14 and will remain charged thereafter.

The locations include Zhadima village, Nerhema, Phezha village, Thizama village, Meriema village, and Nagaland University.

The public has been advised not to touch the mentioned transmission line or approach it for safety reasons. Anyone disregarding this caution will do so at their own risk, and the department of Power will not be held liable for any resulting incidents.

It was further informed that this has the approval and clearance of the chief electrical inspector of Nagaland. To facilitate the test charging of the said LILO line, the 132 kV Kohima-Chiephobozou transmission line shall be shut down on May 14 from 7:30 am to 9:30 am.

In this regard, power supply to Wokha, Tseminyu, Pughoboto, and Kohima (northern Angami) areas will be disrupted during the shutdown period because the alternative source of power supply through the 132 kV Wokha-Sanis transmission line has been damaged due to the collapse of one 132kV tower AP No. 16 near Riphyum Old area under Wokha district.

All consumers and the general public in the affected areas have been asked to cooperate and bear the inconvenience of the shutdown.
