Dimapur: The felicitation programme of the office bearers of the newly formed Tenyimi Union Nagaland (TUN) was held on June 23 at APO Hall in Kohima.
An update from the union stated that TUN is a platform established with an aim of fostering better understanding, coordination, and unity among the Tenyimi family of Nagaland and to strengthen its parent body, Tenyimi Peoples’ Organisation (TPO).
“With a shared heritage, blood relation, language and culture, the TUN through collective action and collaboration, strives to promote the well-being and prosperity of the Tenyimi people, preserve their rich cultural heritage and address common related issues faced by the community in the state of Nagaland,” TUN stated.
The office of TUN for the tenure 2023-2025 would be led by Kekhwengulo Lea as president, Peteroko Zetsuvi as vice president, Dr. Tumda Neumai as general secretary, C Pili as joint secretary, and Meshento Apon as treasurer.
The executive members included Zeneituo Yono, Zadehol Rikha, Nuzota Swuro, Neilo Khape, Soutsutho Among, Thorapa Kajiri, Gwanyelo Keppen, Khinyi Woch, Neiba Neumai, Heirangying Lungalang, presidents of APO, CPO, Pochury Hoho, Rengma Hoho and NZPO.
The felicitation programme was chaired by APO president, Razouvotuo Chatsu, while VezuhuK eyho, CPO president, introduced the newly elected office bearers.
Rev. Dr. DL Sanchu prayed for the new team and Timikha Koza, TPO president, exhorted the gathering.
The programme concluded with a short speech delivered by the newly elected TUN president, Kekhwengulo Lea.
