Teacher trainees undertake study tour

Kohima, Nov. 30 (EMN): As part of the training programme, the teacher trainees of St. Paul Institute of Education, Phesama, undertook a 12-day study tour to Delhi, Agra and Amritsar and visited various historical places of importance.
The trainees began with the Delhi trip covering places like Lotus Temple, Qutub Minar, Humayun Tomb, Red Fort, Akshardam Temple, Science Museum and Rajghat. A special programme was arranged by the Lok Sabha Secretariat to enlighten the trainees about the evolution and functioning of the Parliament.
Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training (BPST) has organised a half day programme with its Additional Director Dr. Deepak. He explained the history of Parliament with every facts and details and the role parliament plays in the country. Director of BPST Alpana Tripathi also interacted with the teacher trainees.
The Additional Director Thomas Ngaihte arranged guided tour to the Parliament Complex including library, museum, central hall and both the houses of Parliament.
The visit to Rastrapati Bhavan was an enchanting one to the trainees. The guide of the Rastrapati Bhavan took special care in explaining every detail of it and entertained the questions related to Rastrapati Bhavan.
The Agra tour gave them a glimpse of art and architecture. The historical visit to Golden Temple made them appreciate the richness in Sikh religion especially their generosity towards the needy. The visit to Wagha Border saw their patriotic spirit becoming alive as the Indian army displayed their love for the country through retreating ceremony. The trainees were accompanied by the principal and the staff of the institute.
