Task force formed to phase out unfit vehicles in Kohima
DIMAPUR — The Regional Transport Authority (RTO), Kohima, held a meeting at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner (DC), Kohima, on July 12.
The meeting, presided over by DC Kohima Kumar Ramnikant, addressed a range of transport-related issues, according to a DIPR report.
A task force has been constituted to study the issue of phasing out unfit commercial taxis and city buses. A rationalisation exercise regarding fares for commercial vehicles has also been approved.
Other critical issues discussed included the fitness of school buses for the safety of children, the relocation of food carts and night bazaars, the enforcement of no-parking zones, and a comprehensive review of Kohima’s overall traffic situation.
A follow-up review meeting is scheduled for August.
