Tangkhul KS and MT Youth Club enter semi-final

Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) and MT Youth Club today moved into the semi-final
of the ongoing Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) organized student martyrs’ memorial soccer tournament under the theme “Goal for Peace” at Kohima Local Ground. Playing the third quarter final as the first match of the day, visiting team from Ukhrul district of Manipur, Tangkhul Students’ Union defeated strong contenders St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama with a margin of one goal.
Both the teams remained strong against each other with neither side managing to make any breakthrough in the first 45 minute of play.
However, five minutes into the breather half, visitors managed to strike the lead through Thangsomi Ruivah, but their happiness was short lived as Paul Magh scored the equalizer within next seven minute (57th) for St. Joseph’s College.
Nonetheless, TKS continued attacks resulted in giving them the much needed winning goal, which came through Pamreishang Horam in 81st minute to win the match by 2-1.
Chakhesang Public Organization president Sovenyi witnessed the match as patron.
In another closely contested match, MT Youth Club knocked Rengma Students’ Union two goals to nil with Hunato Awomi smacking the first lead in dying minutes of first half while Kevisato Chadi confirmed the win doubling the margin in 87th minute.
Rengma Hoho, president Sawethong Kezseb was the match patron.
The losing quarter finalist received quarter-finalist allowance of Rs. 10,000.
