SVEEP campaign: Free football coaching held in Peren
DIMAPUR — The Election Department of Peren district, in collaboration with Nagaland Sport Association, organised a free football coaching for students of higher secondary schools and colleges, on September 4 and the 5th at Peren town local ground.
The programme was initiated under the SVEEP campaign 2023, targeting young population, educating them on electoral awareness and involving them in electoral process, an update stated.
The training was attended by 49 boys and 10 girls from three schools, one college and Peren town youth. On the first day, the students were trained on basic tactics of football.
On the second day, the players were divided into teams of seven players each where the best two teams played the final match representing the Chief Electoral Officer and District Election Officer.
On the sidelines of the camp, registration in electoral roll for all eligible and perspective electors was also conducted. The training was conducted by AIFF certified coaches and members of Nagaland Sport Association.
Keneinguze Immanuel Pienyu, state SVEEP icon and prominent football player, exhorted the students on electoral education and encouraged them to get registered in the electoral roll.
