Sungratsu village has a new tourist lodge now
Mokokchung, Dec. 11 (EMN): A lodge called ‘Poksungjen Tourist Lodge’ was inaugurated on Tuesday at Sungratsu village in Mokokchung district. The new place was dedicated by I Kilen Longchar, pastor of Sungratsu Baptist Arogo, in the presence of village council members and well-wishers from the village.
The lodge will be run by three upcoming young entrepreneurs Aongsen, Waicheba and Nungsangchuba, no surnames given, under the supervision of the Sungratsu Tourism Committee.
One of the operators of the lodge, Nungsangchuba, said that the lodge aims to cater to the needs of tourists visiting the range as Sungartsu was the gateway to the Asetkong range; and for vacationers coming from towns to spend their weekend here.
He informed that a tourist lodge was constructed in 2007. However, it failed to tap its potential for many years. However, today they have begun the venture to make Asetkong range a popular tourist destination.
The newly inaugurated lodge has a few rooms besides a conference hall. It will be open only on Saturday. However, if needs for lodging or other events on alternate days arise, the door is open, said Nungsangchuba.
The lodge will be serving indigenous cuisines and other popular local delicacies of the range. Facilities such as pre-orders for food are also provided by the lodge.
Poksungjen Tourist Lodge is ideally located in front of the Sungartsu village’s gate.
