Scouts and guides from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS) and Holy Cross Higher Secondary School (HCHSS) during the summer camp at DBHSS, Dimapur.

DIMAPUR — A four-day summer camp for 250 scouts and guides from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS) and Holy Cross Higher Secondary School (HCHSS) was conducted at DBHSS in Dimapur from July 8 to the 10th.

An update from DBHSS stated that the summer camp was aimed at providing educational environment for the young scouts and guides by allowing them to develop crucial skills, forge new friendships, and enjoy the wonders of nature. It added that the camp offered a diverse range of activities tailored to foster personal growth and teamwork.

It stated that the students have actively participated in various activities designed to challenge them both physically and mentally, which was conducted by experienced instructors and dedicated camp staff. From outdoor adventures such as hiking and nature exploration to survival skills workshops and leadership training, the camp provided opportunities for self-discovery and character development, it stated.

Additionally, the programme included team-building exercises and group challenges that encouraged collaboration, communication, and problem-solving among the scouts and guides. It stated that through those activities, the participants learned the value of teamwork and developed essential life skills that would serve them well in their future endeavors.

Notable activities during the camp included pioneering ad knotting, first aid and emergency response training, cooking and outdoor meal preparation, adventure sports, and environmental conservation workshops. The activities not only taught practical skills but also instilled a sense of responsibility towards the environment and the importance of sustainable practices.

Report further stated that the summer camp also facilitated interaction and camaraderie between the scouts and guides from different schools. They have shared experiences and collaborative activities allowed them to form lasting friendships, fostering a sense of unity and understanding among the participants, it added.
