Dimapur, May 12 (EMN): The Sumi missionary conference under the umbrella of Sumi Baptist Convention comprise of all Sumi denomination was held at SABAK Mission Center, Pughoboto from May 9-11, with the theme “Ready and Unashamed”.
Speakers for the conference were Rev. Dr. Z.K. Rochill, Senior Aux. Secreatery BSI Dimapur; Rev. Khevihe Yeptho. Associate Director NMM and Dr. Hokheto Chophi. Pastor Sumi Baptist Church Kohima. Secreatery of Mission department WSBAK, Rev. Shikuho Zhimo led the bible study while Pastor of Chekiye Baptist Church, Nivukhu presented the paper on “Envisioning long term mission” and Executive Secreatry of NCRC, Rev. Tokheho exhorted the missionaries.
The main highlights of the three-day programe were power point presentation of the field ministry activities by different Sumi mission fields and cultural presentations representing their tribes in India.
Sumi Baptist Convention extended their gratitude to the host, SABAK pughoboto, executive secretaries and staff of all the five Sumi Associations, participants, missionaries and well wishers for their support.
Meanwhile, following members have been selected to lead the SMF for two years (2017-2019) namely: Mughahoto, Pastor SCF Shillong as president; Hutoshe, Missionary Jorhat Assam as vice president; Avito, Missionary West Kameng Arunachal as general secretary; Shikaho, Missionary ABCA Arunachal as assistant general general secretary; Angeli, Missionary Golpara Assam as organising secretary; Kughaho, Pastor SCF Guwahaty as treasurer; Khetovi, Missionary Himachal Pradesh as statisatical secretary; Olivia, Missioanry Lalpahar Assam as assistant statistical secretary and Ghokheto, Missionary Arunachal as information secretary and Mission and Evangelism directors/secretaries of 5 associations and director of Sumi Baptist Convention as advisors.
