Dimapur, Jan. 6 (EMN): Sümi Hoho has endorsed the January 5 resolution of the Western Sümi Hoho (WSH) and declared ‘Indefinite non-cooperation” to NSCN (Khango) faction in “all Sümi inhabited areas” with immediate effect.

The declaration was made following the conflict at NSCN-K (Khango-Isak) Ceasefire Monitoring Office on January 4 night, when a team of public leaders led by the president of Western Sumi Hoho, who is also the Sumi Hoho vice president (by designation) arrive at the spot to defuse and avert any unwanted situation. It alleged that the commander and his cadres verbally abused and threatened the team with dire consequences, even loading and pointing the guns towards the Sümi public leaders. It added that such an act of cowardice and savagery and gun threatening culture is a foregone act of the past which has no place in a civilised society.

The hoho has also reaffirmed the 07/01/2014 and 29/07/2016 Sümi Baghi Hoho resolution which states, “In the event any underground group intimidates any Sümi public or public leader, the entire Sümi populace will react to such act and retaliate in a befitting manner if required.”

The hoho also reaffirmed the 14 tribes (now 15 tribes) resolution dated 14/11/2019 to react against any individual or group that threatens its leaders.

The hoho further appealed to the negotiating parties namely the government of India (GoI) and the Nagaland Political Groups (NPGs) to come to a political conclusion before election. Should the solution be prolonged further and any kind of untoward situations arises that could harm the integrity of Nagaland and the Indian nation, the hoho stated that GoI and NPGs should be held solely responsible.
