Eastern Mirror: Tell us a bit about yourself, how did you end up studying fashion design and what drew you to the fashion world?
Kupu Zhimomi: I am crazy for fashion and a fashion blogger too. From the very beginning I knew I wanted to be a fashion designer. ‘I would go to the school library and look at the fashion magazines and get inspired then i started sketching and from there on there was no looking back.’

EM: Who are your inspirations in fashion world? Kupu Zhimomi: Late.Alexander McQueen and John Galliano inspire me the most.

EM: Who do you visualize wearing your collections when you design?
KZ: Taylor Swift, Blake Lively, Zenday to name a few.

EM: What has been the most challenging part of being a fashion student so far?
KZ: Time Management has been the most challenging part, as a design student we’re loaded with assignments and are expected to submit them at a specific time.

EM: Do you love working on men’s wear or women’s wear? Which one is difficult to work on?
KZ: I love working on both mens and womens wear but for me I find menswear more difficult to work on as there’s simple silhouettes and the finishing needs to be perfect, or you end up in the worst dressed list.

EM: What are the dressing essentials that every man and woman should have in their wardrobe?
KZ: A good pair of shoes. Like they say “good shoes take you places”.
EM: What are some of your future plans as a fashion student or after graduation?
KZ: I plan to study abroad and work there.
