Students urged to dream big, be disciplined

Kohima, March 7 (EMN): Principal Director of School Education, Shanavas C, on Monday told students to dream big and not lag behind, thinking that they are in government schools.

He stated that the government, the department and the teachers are trying to do their best for the children. He also shared that he also studied in a government, while encouraging the students to aim high and be disciplined in life.

He was addressing the launching programme of SaiSure Multinutrient Health Mix to School Children at GMS Bayavu Hill Kohima organised by the PM Poshan, directorate of School Education Nagaland, Kohima.

Shanavas also asked the students to study well and be focused, in order to support their families and give back to the community and society.

He acknowledged the Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust for extending their support, while exuding hope that it will go a long way in helping students in the state.

Shanavas informed that a total of 72 Schools with 2624 students from Three districts- Meluri SDEO Block of Phek; Kohima block in Kohima and Seyochung SDEO block of Kiphire district will receive the SaiSure Multinutrient Health Mix to School Children under the pilot project – Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) through Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust for three months, adding that there is likelihood of extension in other parts as well, depending on the response.

Meanwhile, National Manager of Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust, Allath Santosh informed that the trust was formed in 2015 with the intention to provide morning nutrition and address hunger among the government school students.

He stated that the trust started small with about 50 children and over the years it has reached out to about 5 Lakh children covering 21 states including its launch in Nagaland, and 21 union territories.

Santosh said that the trust aims to “Let no child go to school hungry ever” and the nutrition is implemented in various forms depending on the locations.

The launching programme was chaired by Kikruneinuo Liezietsu, teacher, GMS Bayavu Hill Kohima.   The principal director launched the project in presence of the trust officials, school education department officials, teachers and students.
