Three students and one teacher from Nagaland attended the Pariksha Pe Charcha 2023, an interaction programme of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, with students, teachers and parents, on January 27 at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi.
An update from the principal director of School Education department, Thavaseelan K, stated that Visali Z Sangtam, a Class 11 student of Livingstone Foundation International School, Dimapur; Hansuja Medhi, a Class 10 student of Delhi Pubic School, Dimapur; and Mompy Boruah, a teacher from Army Public School, Rangapahar, Dimapur; were selected to participate at the programme on the basis of their performance in the online competition conducted by the Ministry of Education. It added that Nyemjun Konyak, a Class 10 student of Government Higher Secondary School, Diphupar, who secured second position at the National Kala Utsav Competition under the category indigenous toys and games, also attended the programme.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister interacted with more than 1200 students.
It informed that the interaction programme was broadcast live on Doordarshan through DD National, DD News and DD India etc. It was also made available through live airing on radio channels (All India Radio Medium Wave, All India Radio FM Channel) as well as live web streaming on websites of PMO, MoE, Doordarshan, MyGov.in and YouTube channel of MoE, Facebook Live and Swayamprabha channels of MoE.
It stated that the department had directed all schools functioning in the state to make necessary arrangements at their schools to enable students from Class 6 and above to view/ hear the deliberations of the live telecast.
It also mentioned that the commissioner and secretary of School Education, Kevileno Angami; principal director of School Education, Thavaseelan K; NBSE chairperson, Aseno Sekhose, additional director of SCERT, Keviraleu Kerhuo, and senior officers from the department of School Education joined the students and teachers of Dr. Neilhouzhü Kire Government Higher Secondary School, Seikhazou, Kohima, in viewing the live telecast.
In another programme, students and teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Dimapur witnessed the live webcast of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2023 in the school premises on Friday. It informed that a total of 780 students from class I to XII and all the staff watched the live telecast.
