Dimapur, March 22 (EMN): The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) has censured what it stated was ‘poor attendance and inactive responsibilities’ of the teachers posted at different government schools under its jurisdiction.

A press release from the student organisation on Wednesday informed that this issue of teachers failing “to respond to its (sic) call of duty as an educator” was discussed during its meeting with affiliated units on the March 8 last, at Chetheba town hall, hosted by the Chetheba Town Chakhesang Students’ Union.

“The CSU as an organisation whose sole aim is to promote and protect the welfare of the students in particular had once again appeal (sic) to all those headmasters/headteachers and faculty who had abandoned its (sic) responsibilities and are away from duty to kindly know and realise the big role assigned to them as an educator and understand the struggling (sic) of the students especially in the villages who are longing to learn and be a responsible person in the society one day.”

It also acknowledged those teachers “who are tirelessly rendering” their best service to the students and schools “despite of many trials and difficulties they face due to lack of proper infrastructure and facilities in the school as well as in the villages.”

It appealed the department concerned to “strictly check the irregularities of the teachers especially in the rural areas” and “inspect the schools functioning in order to improve and promote quality education.”
