Dimapur, Sep.22 (EMN): The general secretary of Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association (NMDA) said it had ‘no idea’ when the strike called by the transporters would end, as medicines were not delivered from Guwahati even on Thursday.
‘We have no idea on what reason the transporters based in Dimapur have called the strike and was non-functioning since Sep.16’, the general secretary told Eastern Mirror.
“If there is no delivery of medicines from Guwahati in Dimapur, it will affect all the districts in the state except for Mokokchung district as they have an alternate route through Jorhat. But the other districts will suffer putting the lives of the patients at risk and we do don’t know why the government, administration and the law-agencies are keeping silent on this issue”, the general secretary said.
The association appealed to the transporters to resume their services and also urged the government to look into the matter.
