Statistics dept. releases report on wholesale price index
DIMAPUR — The secretary of Economics and Statistics, Akunu S Meyase, released the 1st report on wholesale price index in her office chamber at Nagaland Civil Secretariat on September 10 in the presence of Neidilhou Keditsu, director of Economics and Statistics, and other senior officials of the department.
In her brief address, the secretary congratulated the department for bringing out the 1st report on wholesale price index and urged the officials to continue performing better to bring out more quality and accurate data for policy intervention.
An update from the department stated that the survey on wholesale price index was conducted under Support for Statistical Strengthening Scheme Sub-Scheme of Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation with an objective to provide statistics on movement of prices.

It stated that the index was constructed by using the base year 2012=100 where three groups namely primary articles, fuel and power and manufactured products were estimated.
As per the survey report, the wholesale price index (WPI) general index of Nagaland stood at 164.56 basis points.
