State reports one Covid case, 5 recoveries

Dimapur, March 6 (EMN):
Nagaland recorded one fresh Covid-19 positive case In Kohima on Sunday. The state’s Covid tally stands at 35,420 and active caseload at 58.

The state’s cumulative recoveries also increased to 33, 124 with the recovery of five more patients in the last 24 hours.

The death toll remained unchanged at 753 with no fresh death reported on Sunday. 

According to data from the department of Health and Family Welfare, two each in Dimapur and Mokokchung and one in Kohima recovered during the same period.

Out 58 active cases in the state, 52 are asymptomatic, four mild and two moderate on oxygen.

In terms of distribution of active cases, Dimapur has 39 infections, 14 in Kohima, three in Mokokchung, and two in Wokha, while Mon, Tuensang, Peren, Zunheboto, Longleng, Phek and Kiphire are  currently Covid-19 free.

158 new deaths in India

India reported 5,476 fresh Covid infections and 158 new deaths in the last 24 hours, data from the Union Health Ministry said on Sunday.

With the new deaths, the toll has climbed to 5,15,036 in the country.

Meanwhile, the active Covid cases have further reduced to 59,442. The recovery of 9,754 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally to 4,23,88,475.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.66%, it said.

With the administration of over 26.19 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid inoculation coverage has reached 178.83 crore as of Sunday morning.
