Nagaland reports 4 new Covid cases, 1 death

Dimapur, March 28 (EMN): Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of four fresh Covid-19 positive cases on Tuesday, taking the state’s tally to 35,474 and active caseload to 14.

The state’s cumulative recoveries also increased to 33, 217 with the recovery of five more patients in the last 24 hours.

The death toll increased to 755 with one fresh death reported on Tuesday. 

According to data from the department of Health and Family Welfare, four positive cases were reported in Dimapur, while five in Dimapur recovered.

Out of the 14 active cases in the state, 13 are asymptomatic and one moderate on oxygen.

In terms of district-wise distribution of active cases, 12 are in Dimapur, and one each in Kiphire and Wokha; while the remaining districts are currently Covid-free.

India reports 1,259 new Covid cases

With 1,259 fresh cases, India’s Covid-19 tally climbed to 4,30,21,982 on Tuesday, while the number of active cases further declined to 15,378, according to the Union Health Ministry.

The death toll increased to 5,21,070 with 35 more fatalities, the ministry’s data stated.

Meanwhile, 1,705 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients is now at 4,24,85,534.

India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 183.53 crore(1,83,53,90,499).
