DIMAPUR — The department of School Education in collaboration with Dream a Dream, a Bangalore-based organisation, hosted a state-level webinar on social-emotional learning (SEL) on November 23.
According to a press release, this event also marked the formal launch of newly identified SEL ambassadors from 176 demonstration schools across the state.
The webinar was facilitated by Dream a Dream’s Saba Ahmad, and the introductory speech was delivered by Thavaseelan K, principal director of the department of School Education, who also formally launched the ambassadors.
It was hosted by Dream a Dream’s Kethoseno Rikha and Watimongla Jamir.
Thavaseelan, congratulating the newly identified SEL ambassadors on the occasion, urged them to seize this unique opportunity for skill enhancement, understanding the generosity of Dream a Dream in providing their expertise free of charge.
He also stated that the department has partnered with Dream a Dream, an organisation dedicated to supporting and enhancing SEL initiatives, in recognition of the critical importance of social-emotional learning for children navigating life.
He went on to say that this collaboration goes beyond simply providing assistance and that Dream a Dream is actively involved in shaping the life skills curriculum, assisting with teacher capacity building, and overseeing monitoring and evaluation processes.
