Stand by the principles of discipline — Roko Angami
Kohima, Jan. 3 (EMN): Nagaland Football Coaches Association (NFCA) president Roko Angami, challenged the youth to stand by the principles of discipline to become successful sports persons at Meriema village, Kohima on Dec. 31, 2021.
Speaking at the valedictory function of the 52nd anniversary celebrations of Meriema Village Youth Games and Sports Meet 2021, Roko urged the youths to make the best use of their talents and maintain perseverance to excel in the field of games and sports.
He informed that he pursued the game of football with utmost sincerity and with parental love and God’s blessing and accomplished his aspiration of becoming an international football player by playing in Israel in 1994.
Stressing on the need to stay focused on sports ethics, he maintained that respect to coaches, parents and elders also plays an important factor for a successful journey in the sports industry.
Further, he urged upon the youth to always take team spirit as a fundamental component to emerge victorious in sports.
Earlier, the function was chaired by organising committee member Dr. Thepfudi Shüya.
Prize distribution was led by Meriema Village Youth Organization, vice president, Ruokuohelie Vipfhe, while vote of thanks was proposed by organising committee member, Keneiwelie Shüya.
