Dimapur, March 17 (EMN): The 17th annual sports meet-cum-investiture ceremony of St. John’s School got underway at the school premises in Diphupar-B, Dimapur on March 16.
A press release from the school informed that the event commenced with a prayer followed by the Bible reading and the pledge of St. John’s students’ promise.
Johny Abraham, headmaster, in his exhortation asked the students to be responsible with high ambitions and set themselves as role models to others and stated that great leadership starts with self-leadership.
The investiture ceremony was followed by the inauguration of sports meet. Highlights of the programme included dance, yoga demonstration and drill display by class 5, 6 and 7 girls.
Senior teacher, Rhunthungo Kikon, compeered the programme, while welcome speech was proposed by boys’ captain, Litsaba and vote of thanks was given by Tumai, the girls’ captain.
The sports meet will culminate on March 19.
