Kohima, Jan. 28 (EMN): Samagra Shiksha Nagaland (SSN) conducted community awareness and sensitisation programme on inclusive education and other activities in Kiphire town on January 27.
Speaking at the programme, the additional deputy commissioner of Kiphire, Rahul Mali, reminded the community leaders on the necessity to create awareness on various government schemes for the public to avail benefits of government schemes. Stating that India is a country with young population having immense human resources, he informed that effort to improve holistic quality education is vital to provide employment avenues in future.
Mali also reminded the public leaders that about 12% of the state’s population is in government service and has reached a saturation point for further employment in the government sector. He, therefore, stressed on the need to expand vocational education in the state as per NEP 2020 to impart skill education to increase employment opportunities for the youth in future.
Dwelling on NIPUN Bharat Mission to achieve universal foundational literacy and numeracy by 2026-27, he urged the community leaders to take active part in ensuring quality education in schools. Also mentioning about various supports provided by the government for the children with various disabilities, he urged the community leaders to spread awareness of such provisions to community members.
In his keynote address, Liyalo Apon, the deputy mission director of Samagra Shiksha, urged the community leaders to spread awareness of Samagra Shiksha scheme to ensure the students avail benefits as per the programme.
Officials from the State Mission Office Samagra Shiksha made power point presentations on inclusive education, vocational education and pre- vocational education, out of school children as per RTE Act 2009 and NIPUN Bharat Mission.
Representatives from the NGO, students leaders, church leaders, women organisation leaders, village leaders, SMC and SMDC members, school heads and teachers attended the programme.
