SSN holds state-level quiz competition

DIMAPUR — Samagra Shiksha Nagaland (SSN) on Tuesday conducted a state-level quiz competition for elementary government schools under Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA) at the Directorate of School Education in Kohima.

An update from SSN stated that Kethorietuo Kesiezie, UAV engineer of Nagaland GIS and Remote Sensing and the special guest, made a presentation on drone and artificial intelligence (AI). He spoke on how artificial intelligence (AI) and drone technology is transforming the state in the delivery of medical emergencies, mapping of landscapes, roads and traffic monitoring.

He encouraged the students to embrace technology stating that the future would be dominated by those technologies, which have endless capabilities.

Kelhikha Kenye, deputy mission director of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, congratulated the students for winning in the district level quiz competitions. He also appreciated the teachers for their support to enable students to participate in the state-level competition.

The programme was chaired by Dr. Chumbeni Kikon, joint mission director of Samagra Shiksha and Programme officer. He informed that the quiz competition was conducted for the elementary level students of government schools under RAA funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

In her introductory note, she encouraged the students to embrace scientific temper and passion for learning.

Dr. Bijano Murry, joint mission director of Samagra Shiksha, was the quiz master of the competition. Visetonuo, assistant director of School Education, and Nongosal John Kiso, PGT Physics at GHSS Kigwema, were the judges of the competition.

The report stated that students from 12 districts have participated in the competition.

It stated that Kamrila from Kiphire district won the first prize, while Sonen Choba from Tuensang district and Nashe Mounyu from Mon district secured the second and third prizes respectively.
