DIMAPUR — A one-day seminar on ‘Exploring library and information science as a career path’ was organised by the Career Guidance Committee of Sao Chang College (SCC), Tuensang, in collaboration with the Library Advisory on March 22.
Librarian of Sao Chang College, Mantok Konyak, the resource person of the seminar, shed light on various career opportunities in the field of Library Science – from librarian and library technician to digital asset manager, an update stated. He also highlighted the essential skills and qualifications required to succeed in library careers.
Konyak further said that a career in library and information science involves managing, organizing and making information accessible to people.
“It is a field that’s all about helping people, find the information they need, and it’s great for those who love books, technology and life-long learning,” he added.
The programme was chaired by Chekrovoto Theluo, assistant professor (Department of Mathematics), Sao Chang College.
Earlier, the seminar commenced with a welcome address by Hotoni Yeptho, assistant professor, SSC and Chongliu Khiamniungan, coordinator of the Career Guidance Committee SSC, delivered the vote of thanks.
Altogether, 30 participants attended the programme.
