DIMAPUR — While reaffirming its earlier resolution, the Satoi Range GBs’ Association (SRGBA) under Zunheboto district has directed all government employees within Satoi range to be regular in attending office and resolved not to tolerate the culture of proxy teaching in schools.
The reaffirmation to its earlier resolution was made during its consultative meeting held on March 26 at Satoi headquarters with the presence of all the GBs from eleven villages, stated an update from the association.
The association directed all village councils and village education committees (VEC) to strictly enforce the prohibition of government teachers engaging in proxy teaching within their jurisdiction. In the event of failure by the village council or VEC, it was resolved that the association would directly intervene and report to higher authorities for necessary action.
The association also resolved to sponsor all school admissions, fees, housing rent and rations for students studying at the Government High School Satoi. In this regard, it appealed to all citizens to take advantage of the opportunity for free assistance to the student community.
Having learned that there are only nine teachers currently at Government High School, Satoi, with an additional need of four graduate teachers for Mathematics, Science, English and general teachers, the association appealed to the School Education department to deploy adequate number of government teachers at the earliest.
With various ongoing development activities in the region and many government projects in the pipeline, the association stated that no member or public should hinder any development activities to ensure quality workmanship. It appealed to all concerned to cooperate with government agencies within their respective jurisdictions to facilitate smooth development within the range.
