DIMAPUR — A special gram sabha was convened at the Wokha Village Council Hall on Tuesday, focusing on the formulation of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) for the year 2024-25.

According to a press release, the key individuals who attended the meeting included Tushimanen Jamir, the Nodal Officer for GPDP at Wokha block; Aruna Markose from Young Professional (YP), National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD), Hyderabad; Anuranjan Singh, overseeing skill development and entrepreneurship; and Shishoi Oshom from the Entrepreneurship Task Force at Cell Wokha.

Representatives from the department of Social Welfare and the Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) also joined the meeting and provided insights into their respective schemes and offerings.

During the meeting, there was also a comprehensive awareness programme covering various schemes, with a particular emphasis on PM Vishwakarma.

Village organisations and self-help groups used the opportunity to present the Village Poverty Reduction Plan (VPRP) and findings on poverty-related issues to the sabha, as well as to propose and submit demands for poverty reduction.
