Sorikhiung Yimchunger strikes gold at MMA championship

DIMAPUR — Sorikhiung Yimchunger from Nagaland secured gold in the 5th Series of PML Nationals Youth MMA Championship under 18 years, 53.6 kg category, held on June 22 and 23 at Andheri Sports Complex, Mumbai, Maharashtra.

In a message, the Yimkhiung Sports Association (YSA) has congratulated Sorikhiung on his achievement.

It said that by securing this victory, Sorikhiung has brought immense pride and honour to Nagaland as a whole and to the Yimkhiung community in particular.

“Sorikhiung’s exemplary discipline and dedication have truly showcased the emergence of a new star from the historic land of headhunters. His success is an indication of his hard work, perseverance, and strong support from his family and community,” it read.

The YSA further extended its best wishes to Sorikhiung for a bright and promising future.
