SON DHD holds graduation-cum-Ketsovole Kire’s award ceremony
DIMAPUR — School of Nursing District Hospital Dimapur (SON DHD) held its 7th graduation-cum-Lt. Mrs. Ketsovole Kire’s 21st award ceremony on Friday at Chapel Hall of DHD.
Altogether, 28 General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) students graduated this year from SON DHD.
The guest of honour and principal director of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. E Motsuthung Patton, encouraged the GNM graduates to work with dedication and humility without any discrimination of tribes, caste, creed and religion.
Family members of Lt. Ketsovole Kire awarded the 21st award to Lolanbeni N A Erui. Since 2002, Lt. Ketsovole Kire Award has been awarded to GNM students in Nagaland in recognition of academic excellence by her family members, stated an update from the school.
The former Director General of Police (DGP), Nagaland, K Kire spoke on the occasion and shared that the award is a legacy of his mother to encourage the GNM students to excel in their practice, skill and knowledge.
In his exhortation, Dr. K Toska Sumi, assistant medical superintendent at DHD, emphasised the importance of virtues needed in a nurse such as resilience, hope and compassion.
The programme was chaired by Limasungla Aier, nursing tutor of SOPN DHD, while an invocation prayer was said by Dr. N Moa Jamir and the welcome address was delivered by Bendangnaro, principal of SON DHD.
A song was presented by 3rd year GNM students, while the graduation ceremony was conducted by Kepelhoutseiu Suohu, deputy director of Nursing, Health and Family Welfare, and a prayer for the graduates was said by Rev. Yhunlo Thong, chaplain of DHD.
A short speech was also delivered by Lolanbeni NA Erui and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Nolasanu, vice principal of SON.DHD.
