DIMAPUR — The All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) concluded its first phase of the educational tour, which began on May 28, to examine and assess the overall growth and development of government institutions within Sumi-inhabited areas.

According to a press release, during its first tour, the Union visited Zunheboto Government College, Kheloshe Polytechnic Atoizu, and Nagaland University Lumami Campus.

The union had discussions and interactions with the students, faculties, and heads of all three institutions, where several issues and grievances were highlighted.

Some of the major problems identified were the lack of proper infrastructure and facilities, insufficient classrooms, and a shortage of teachers, among others.

The union stated that the upgrading of Kheloshe Polytechnic to a full-fledged engineering college is of paramount importance, and for this, the union will implore the concerned authorities to address and streamline the upgrade without delay.

Furthermore, the union assured that all these matters and issues would be taken up with the utmost priority.
