SJU students undertake field trip to Khonoma

Students and faculty of St. Joseph University are seen during an educational field trip to Khonoma village and Dzulieke on October 8.

Dimapur, Oct. 9 (EMN): History department of St. Joseph University (SJU) organised an educational field trip for the BA 5th semester students to Khonoma village and Dzulieke in Kohima district on October 8.

An update from the university informed that the students were exposed to “Anglo-Naga history about the battle of Khonoma” and the scenic landscapes of Khonoma and Dzulieke villages. 

“The need to preserve, conserve and protect the environment was made as a theme of the field trip,” it stated.

The students were guided by K Hokato Sumi, assistant professor, and supervised by Dr. Kinitoli Yepthomi, academic dean from History department.

Altogether, 39 students took part in the field trip.

In a separate propgramme, Zoology department comprising of 75 students conducted Swatchh Bharat campaign on October 7 at Sangtamtilla village and Tilla Basti respectively.

The campaign was led by Sunjemwati Ozukum, Kevilhounyu Sorhie, P Shewang Konyak and Peyan M Longshen Shiu. The campaign was conducted from Sangtamtilla Rangapahar till Tilla basti in Assam state.

The students were accompanied by assistant professors, Pelesinuo and Dr. G Sattanathan and associate professor. Dr. Murali.
