DIMAPUR — With an aim to bridge the gap of research quality and teaching skills, St. Joseph University (SJU) conducted a four-day faculty induction programme from July 4 to the 7th.

An update from SJU stated that the programme covered a wide range of topics including research and outcome-based education, role of a professional educator and leadership.

The resources persons included Prof. Sanjay Sharma, principal of Dimapur Government College; Dr. TS Pandian, associate professor at Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE); Rev. Dr. Joseph Mariadhas, director of Shalom Rehabilitation Centre, Chümoukedima; Rev. Fr. Dr. JE Arul Raj, chancellor of SJU; Dr. Landson Thindwa, professor from Nigeria; Rev. Sr. Thianes Mary, deputy registrar; Dr. K Sethupathy, registrar; Prof. Charles Mhonthung Ezung, dean of student affairs; and Dr. Kinitoli H Yeptho, dean of academics.

It stated that the programme was designed to help the faculty members’ transition into their roles at the university and to provide them with the knowledge and skills they need to be successful. It added that the faculty induction programme was just one example of the many ways that St. Joseph University is committed to providing its faculty members with the resources and support they need to succeed.

Around 130 faculty members attended the programme.
