Six Kohima areas selected for DPDB adoption

Six areas in Kohima have been selected for ‘adoption’ by the Kohima District Planning and Development Board for the year 2016-2017.
The meeting of the DPDB for the month of February was held in the DPDB’s conference hall on February in Kohima town. The meeting was presided over by deputy commissioner of Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor, also the and vice-chairman of the board.
Four new members were introduced to the forum with the chairman welcoming them to the board. Reviewing the minutes of the previous board meeting, the additional deputy commissioner for Planning and member-secretary of the DPDB, Ketoho Luho, informed the board that six units have been selected for adoption by the DPDB for the year 2016-2017.
Luho informed that the selected six units included Hospital Colony under the 8th Western Angami assembly constituency; Lower Agriculture Colony under the 9th Kohima town assembly constituency; High School Area under 10th Northern Angami I assembly constituency; Chiechama under the 11th Northern Angami II assembly constituency; Phesama under the 14th Southern Angami I assembly constituency, and Kezo Basa under the 15th Southern Angami II assembly constituency.
All the village/ward adoption committees would be headed by respective area’s elected representative as adviser and administrators along with eight members each from various departments. He also informed the adoption committees that the six selected units have been ‘sensitized’ recently for successful implementation of the program. He has requested the committees to activate its members for further implementation of the program in their respective units.
On the agenda for registration of organizations, the registration for Naga Traditional Museum was deliberated and decided to forward the matter to the SDO (Sardar) for initial verification and forward it to the screening committee. On this agenda, additional deputy commissioner Ketoho informed the forum that they have decided to take up registration or renewal of societies in every three months. The officer further requested all the area administrations’ officers to take note of the timing and submit their reports accordingly.
Also, Deputy Commissioner Mor gave his opinion on the matter. He said that all the existing registered organizations (societies) should apply for renewal before three months of expiry in order to complete the necessary formalities. He also reminded the screening committee in concern to verify all the necessary requirements for new registration and renewal before taking the approval of DPDB as per the guideline given by the government of Nagaland.
On the agenda of action calendar of DPDB, the DC informed that a core committee has been constituted to monitor and regulate the activities of various committees under DPDB. A desk calendar on DPDB action calendar 2016 was also distributed to all the members.
Besides the agenda, the DC apprised the members on important issues like Aadhar Card, opening of Bank Accounts and Arm License where he requested the members to sensitize and propagate the importance of Aadhar Card and opening of Bank accounts by every citizen. On the issue of Arm License, the DC informed that the entry of Arm License dateline has been extended to 31st March 2016 by Central Government to generate UID of all the Arm Holders, he therefore requested the members to share this information to all the arm holders to produce their Arm License and get the UID registration.
The additional deputy commissioner of Tseminyu, Kevikweno Meratsu, also gave an outline about departmental activities in her department. She highlighted sub-divisional profiles and activities being carried out in her sub-division. The Assistant State Co-ordinator for the State Resources Centre for Women, R. Juliana Medom, also gave a presentation about the introduction of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme by the central government.
The National Highway and Urban Development departments were entrusted to present their departmental activities in the next meeting of the board.
