DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, Vineet Kumar, has informed all concerned that, in line with the government notification and in the interest of maintaining environmental sustainability and public health, a complete ban has been imposed on the sale and use of single-use plastic items throughout Wokha district.
It has been clarified that all single-use plastics (SUPs), including carry bags of any thickness and plastic bottles for water and soft drinks under one litre, are prohibited. Any commercial establishment or entity found violating this order will face a fine of INR 10,000 for the first offence, INR 20,000 for the second offence, and permit cancellation for subsequent offences, according to a DIPR report.
All relevant authorities have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the notification.
