Cheryl hits back to her follower’s ‘bag of bones’ remark

SIMON Cowell has jumped to the defense of Cheryl Fernandez-Versini after her recent weight-loss.
The 55-year-old music mogul insisted he isn’t concerned about the 32-year-old singer’s shrinking frame, because she has been ‘eating like a horse’ in recent weeks.
Simon – who is joined on the X Factor judging panel by Cheryl, Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw – explained Cheryl’s sudden weight-loss has been caused by ‘a bug’, and she hasn’t intentionally been shedding the pounds.
‘I think she did pick up a bug and I think the way she’s approaching what was addressed about her weight in a very open way – by saying she is thin and trying to put on weight – I don’t think she would have done that two years ago.’
Cheryl first sparked concern among her fans when she was pictured looking slimmer than ever in a black crop top and flares at the Manchester X Factor auditions earlier this month.
But after one of her followers referred to her as a ‘bag of bones’, the pop princess quickly hit back and revealed she was grieving the death of her father-in-law.
But despite her irritation, Simon claims the brunette is in a much happier place than she was a year ago. She fumed on her Instagram page: ‘I am so sick and tired of it being ok to call somebody too thin or a ‘bag of bones. I would never dream of calling somebody too fat and that they should maybe cut down on their food intake?
‘What is the difference? You have no idea what I have been through. Just losing my father in law recently and everything that comes with that. Not that I am or should justify myself to anyone [sic].’
She continued to rage: ‘I’m so f sick of people thinking it’s ok to be mean or body shame anyone. And it’s woman on woman. Have some respect and maybe think there may be reasons why before opening your mouth please [sic].’
She said: ‘It’s not nice, but there are people out there going through similar things to me, it hurts them.’
