DIMAPUR — The road between Shamator-Chessore in Shamator district has been cleared till Y Anner village on Thursday.
A DIPR report informed that road from Shamator to Chessore has been completely cut-off due to landslides triggered by incessant rain in the past few days.
The road clearance work was made possible due to the intervention by advisor of Youth Resources and Sports, Keoshu Yimchunger; Public Works Department (R&B) led by executive engineer, Thongpang Chongshen; and SDO (R&B) Shamator, T Azhiba Yimchunger.
Meanwhile, the chairman of Y Anner Village Council, Y Rikhum, has appreciated the executive engineer of PWD (R&B) for his efforts to restore the roads within a short period of time. He also thanked the SDO (R&B) of Shamator for his service. The village council chairman also expressed hope that the concerned departments and the government would continue to look into the plight of the people during the monsoon season.
The chairman further expressed gratitude to the local MLA and advisor, Keoshu Yimchunger, for his concern towards the people, especially during natural disaster.
It mentioned that an excavator has been engaged currently in clearing the road within Y Anner village jurisdiction with the support of NPWD.
