Sesame production training for farmers held in Mokokchung

DIMAPUR — Waromung village in Mangkolemba block, Mokokchung district, recognised as a promising site for sesame production, hosted a one-day farmers' training and input distribution programme on November 18.

The event was organised by the ICAR-AICRP on Sesame, Nagaland University, School of Agricultural Sciences, Medziphema campus.

Dr. AP Singh, the project's principal investigator, emphasised in his speech on the occasion the significance of oilseeds for human health and the importance of cultivating oilseeds in Nagaland, particularly in Mokokchung district, while Prof. L Tongpang Longkumer, former head of the department of Agronomy, conducted a presentation on sesame cultivation practices and packages.

A total of 50 farmers participated in this day-long training programme.
