Sentiningsang Longkumer elected as Basketball Federation of India executive member

DIMAPUR— Honourary Secretary of the Nagaland Basketball Association (NBA), Sentiningsang Longkumer, was elected as an executive committee member of the Basketball Federation of India (BFI).

The elections to the various posts of the BFI were conducted on July 5 at J Nehru Stadium, New Delhi, wherein president of the Tamil Nadu Basketball Association, Aadhav Arjuna, was elected as the new president of BFI, an update stated.

The election was presided over by a retired judge as the returning officer and representatives from the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Indian Olympic Association and the Union Sports Ministry as observers.

Longkumer informed that he was among four executive members who were elected unopposed.  He had earlier served as a joint secretary in the NBA and is currently the president of the Dimapur District Basketball Association.
