Seminar on tobacco abuse amongst youth held at Longkhim

Dimapur, Oct. 30 (EMN): The District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC) Tuensang under the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) in collaboration with Longkhim Students’ Union organised a seminar on “Tobacco abuse amongst youth” at the Duda conference hall, Longkhim town on October 29.

Resource person for the seminar Sentilong Longchar, district consultant (DTCC) Tuensang, imparted knowledge about ill-effects and dangers of tobacco consumption. He also informed the participants on how tobacco industry manipulates the youth and causes different health issues.

He went on to advise tobacco users to quit as it is harmful to the body.

Information, education and communication materials on tobacco were also distributed during the programme, an update received here on Friday informed.

About 45 students from different schools attended the seminar.
