DIMAPUR — Patkai Christian College will host the 2nd edition of the Patkai Trophy from February 29 to March 2. This will also be viewed as the golden jubilee edition of the trophy, coinciding with the college’s 50th anniversary celebrations this year.
According to a press release, the inaugural function will be attended by Colo Mero, director of Life Ministries and vice president of the Nagaland Football Association.
A total of 26 teams from various higher secondary schools and colleges in the state will compete in four disciplines (football, basketball, volleyball and badminton), it said, adding that except for football, all the events will have competitions for both men and women.
This year’s edition features a total cash prize of INR 1.57 lakh, including six individual categories with a cash prize of INR 1,000 each. Additionally, badminton has been introduced as a new discipline for both men and women in this edition.
The closing ceremony will be attended by Temjen Imna Along, Minister of Tourism and Higher Education. Furthermore, the event will showcase performances by Sunep Lemtur and rapper Juztino of Infinity.inc Nagaland.
