To mark the discovery of the Raman Effect in 1928 by Indian Physicist, Sir CV Raman, students of Pilgrim Higher Secondary School on Tuesday observed ‘National Science Day’ by organising various events.
An update from the school informed that the day programme witnessed street play, video presentation on the formation of the earth and moon.
Later, an exhibition of Science laboratory tools was opened in the school science laboratory by the principal of the school, Kaini Khekho Kikon, in the presence of students from classes 1 to 3.
It informed that the National Science Day 2023 was observed on the theme “Global Science for global wellbeing.” This event was organised by the Science department of the school.
In another programme, Baptist Mission School in Jotsoma under Kohima district observed ‘National Science Day’ on February 28 by organising a Science exhibition on the theme “Science in everyday life.”
It stated that a total of 11 projects involving 23 students were exhibited under the guidance of Science teachers. It added that more than 200 students have visited the exhibition and learned the importance of science in everyday life. It stated that the event was a new experience for the students.
An update from the school stated that its headmaster has exhorted the students about the importance of Science in their daily life.
It stated that Thejasi-i and Bandita of class 10 won the 1st position in the Science exhibition competition, while Apele and Thejasilie of class10 won the 2nd position and Akhrivi, Khrienguse and Tisazhono won the 3rd position respectively.
