School soil health card gram sabha held at EMRS Diphupar
DIMAPUR — The Department of Soil and Water Conservation, Dimapur, along with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jarnapani, organised a one-day gram sabha for school soil health card at Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), Diphupar, along with students and farmers on September 11.
According to an update, Kevimeo Khatso, district soil and water conservation officer of Dimapur, discussed on the importance of soil health card, which depicts the strength and weakness of soil condition. He stated that basing on the soil health card report, the Agri. and allied departments formulated necessary treatments.
He added that the department of Agriculture had introduced the school soil health card programme to create early awareness on soil health. Khatso also dwelled on the importance of macro, secondary and micro nutrients on plants.
Senior technical assistant at KVK Jarnapani, Dr. Moanaro, discussed the importance of soil status and judicious use of nutrients and fertilisers.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Nrithung, Soil and Water Conservation assistant, while Pangerkumba, Soil and Water Conservation assistant, proposed vote of thanks.
