SBIOA Mokokchung region observes Bank Nationalisation Day
Mokokchung — Commemorating 55th Bank Nationalisation Day, the Mokokchung region of State Bank of India Officers’ Association (SBIOA) and AIBOC state unit organised a blood donation camp and tree plantation drive at IMDH Mokokchung on Wednesday.
During a brief inaugural programme, Imtisanen Ao, CCM, SBIOA (NEC), delivered the welcome address, while Lokho Peter, AGM, RBO Mokokchung, highlighted on the importance of nationalisation of banks in 1969. He informed that public sector banks have played a crucial role in the country’s development in all aspects.
Dr. Marina Yaden, medical superintendent at IMDH Mokokchung, has appreciated the noble gesture initiated by SBIOA and highlighted about the importance of blood donation. He also remarked that the bankers not only contribute towards nation building but also help in saving lives through such activity.
During the day-long programme, a total 20 units of blood was collected. The members also initiated a tree plantation drive at IMDH and SBI Mokokchung branch office.
