SBI inaugurates branch office in Naga United Village
DIMAPUR — State Bank of India (SBI) chief general manager of Northeast Circle, Vincent MD, inaugurated the SBI branch office in Naga United Village under Chümoukedima district on Friday in the presence of Surabhi Bhattacharyya, DGM (B&O), Jorhat Module, marking the 72nd SBI branch in Nagaland.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Vincent shared that it is the 814th branch in NE region out of more than 22,500 branches across the country. He expressed that they need to have physical branches in place even though 97% transaction are taking place through online. He was of opinion that only through the physical presence of the bank, they will be able to know what to deliver the needs of the people.
He expressed hope that the branch will bring progress and act as a catalyst in the economic development of the area. He mentioned that they are committed to the development of not only Nagaland but country as a whole.
He further appealed to the people to support them by availing their services.
Kevethito Rose, EAC of Chümoukedima, also shared that Naga United Village is progressing both in private as well as public sector and asked the citizens to make use of the facility.
Stating that many a times villagers wanted to avail the facilities of government schemes but do not have bank accounts, he asked the villagers to get themselves registered and open accounts.
He further appealed to the village councils and leaders to ensure that support is given to the bank.
Chairman of Naga United Village, Repoyi Nyekha, also expressed gratitude to all the concerned for taking the initiative to open the branch in the village. Stating that the SBI branch is not only for Naga United villagers but for all the neighbouring states, he has sought full cooperation and avail the opportunity.
Tumchobemo Humtsoe will be the manager of the new branch and Rohit Kumar as the junior associate.
