DIMAPUR — The cultural committee of Sazolie College, Kohima, celebrated the college’s 18th freshers’ day on July 26 in Vineizono Hall, on the theme ‘Embrace the unknown and carve your own’.
Dr. Gopal Chetri, principal of the college, addressing the gathering, highlighted the importance of having clear goals and a plan to achieve them. He advised students to be discerning, avoid negative influences, and cultivate healthy friendships, according to a press release.
Chetri stated that their short stay at the college would be a period of discovery and transformation, providing an opportunity to forge meaningful connections, discover their interests, and grow into compassionate and responsible individuals with a strong sense of purpose. He added that an educational degree holds the transformative power to shape their future, ignite their passion, and empower them to make a difference.
He noted that with the advancement of science and technology, human values are losing ground, and encouraged the students to preserve and uphold good moral, ethical, and traditional values. He challenged the students to work hard and carve their own future, emphasising that no one can be their substitute.
Yashijungla, a Semester III student, chaired the formal session, and Lumtiba L Sangtam, president of the Sazolie College Students’ Council, gave the welcome address.
